Pierre De Pasquale is an international consultant in Business and Human Rights, specialised in extractives. He was previously the Head of Stakeholder Engagement at the Responsible Mining Foundation (RMF). RMF was an independent research organisation that encouraged continuous improvement on socio-environmental and governance issues in extractive value chains by developing tools and frameworks, sharing public-interest data and enabling informed and constructive engagement between extractive companies and other stakeholders (e.g. local communities, mine workers and unions, NGOs, investors, banks, multilaterals, governments, downstream customers). Prior to joining RMF, Pierre worked in mines across three continents as a mining engineer specialised in blasting and technical optimisation. He is a member of the ISSA Mining Advisory Council and the UNECE Group of Experts on Coal Mine Methane and Just Transition. More recently, he has been providing consultancy services and expertise to think tanks, companies, NGOs, research organisations, media, and multi-lateral organisations. He studied at ICAM Lille and the University of Manchester and holds an MSc. in engineering.
